back story

I just had enough. The whole academic library administrator thing really got to me and I couldn’t keep at it any longer. So I went to the boss and asked him please could I take a break and he said yeah, and now I’m taking a nice long break, and I can’t imagine ever going back, but of course I need an income. And I’m sure that after a break everything will seem different. Right?

Anyway, that’s how I got here: an academic library director on leave, and having a hard time figuring out how to go back to work. And I thought, Maybe this is interesting to somebody else who has what could be considered the perfect academic job. Or maybe it would be interesting to people who might wish they had my job, and might wonder what is wrong with me to take this leave of absence and consider not going back..
